A pre-conference workshop entitled "Tutorial on Climate Change and Variability" will be held during the meeting of the American Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA) on Saturday, August 7, 1999, 8:00am-5:00pm, at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

This workshop is a one-day intensive tutorial on climate change and variability, the controversies surrounding it, its potential impacts and the roles it creates for applied economists. The objective is to link agricultural professionals with agribusiness, conservation, climate, agriucutural science, risk analysis, and policy communities on the issues of weather and climate risk raised by the global climate change debate. There will be sessions on science, variability of climate and the economic response to risk, agricultural impact assessment, and links to the environment.
