With
the National Assessment moving into its final stages, a number of staffing
changes have taken place at the National Assessment Coordination Office
(NACO). Last fall, Justin Wettstein, who had been serving as sector coordinator,
accepted a research position at the National Center for Atmospheric Research;
his responsibilities were assumed by LaShaunda Malone. At the end of March,
Melissa Taylor, who had been serving as executive secretary to the National
Assessment Synthesis Team and as deputy director of NACO, resigned in
order to be able to take care of her ailing grandparents. Melissa had
been with the National Assessment since it was a gleam in the USGCRP's
eye, and was instrumental in many aspects of the initiation and development
of the Assessment effort. Mike MacCracken and LaShaunda Malone are assuming
her responsibilities. In April, Robert Cherry, who had been serving as
administrative assistant for NACO resigned to take advantage of a business
opportunity in Texas. His responsibilities are being assumed by Nakia
Dawkins. We wish our best to all of those who have moved on to new challenges
and thank them for their many contributions. |
